Thanks for seein' about a girl, friend. here's where I'm writing my own history—for you, for me and anyone else who needs to laugh to keep from cryin' every once in awhile.

This is me.

I, the INFP, really enjoy personality tests. I could take them all day. It intrigues and fascinates me to examine the choices I've made or would make and discover the truths (for lack of a better word) about myself. Almost all of the time, it's the most refreshing, re-affirming thing to realize that yes, I am quite the peacemaker and an artist at heart.

I think that given my current life & career paths, it's helpful to be more examinate.

Today though I realized that I fell into "the Skeptic" category, which having read the description isn't a bad place to be at all. I am certainly these things:

- committed: well, I am committed to things moreso than any particular person at the moment, but I am incredibly loyal, so with good reason I'm clearly just searching for a mighty safe harbor in which to drop my anchor
- security-oriented: clearly, the past 4 years, what with the shredding of my familial safety net, security has become much more important as I can no longer fashion myself as a carefree, happy-go-lucky person.
- reliable, hard-working, responsible, and trustworthy

but  (and there's always a but ...)

Ha! Who knew? I "can also become defensive, evasive, and anxious—running on stress while complaining about it."

Jesus. I must be way, way more stressed out than I realized!

They can be cautious and indecisive (ha! again), but also reactive, defiant and rebellious. They typically have problems with self-doubt and suspicion.

Dern. I just got painted with a brush, for real.

Also, it surprised me to realize how the word "skeptic" jarred me a bit. "Am I one of those people? Hard-hearted as a result of life's curveballs? Have I thrown away the rose-tinted glasses in favor of just squinting at the world?"

This so-called skeptic in me has clearly been unveiling itself gradually, and now I find myself wondering about my once-incredibly-sensitive self. She who always started off by giving the benefit of the doubt. I realize I don't do that at all anymore. It's not my glass that's half-empty or half-full; it's yours, and you can either fill it up (and stay awhile) or drain it (and be discarded accordingly).

Anyway, what more can you learn about you? It's Wednesday -- I need all the entertainment I can get, so be sure to e-mail me some good, revelatory chatter :) In the meantime, here's more about me, the Skeptic Peacemaker (with a touch of Artist to which I will damn-near cling).

The Individualist

The introspective, romantic type. Fours are self-aware, sensitive, and reserved. They are emotionally honest, creative, and personal, but can also be moody and self-conscious. Withholding themselves from others due to feeling vulnerable and defective, they can also feel disdainful and exempt from ordinary ways of living. They typically have problems with melancholy, self-indulgence, and self-pity. At their Best: inspired and highly creative, they are able to renew themselves and transform their experiences.

Type Six
The Loyalist

The committed, security-oriented type. Sixes are reliable, hard-working, responsible, and trustworthy. Excellent "troubleshooters," they foresee problems and foster cooperation, but can also become defensive, evasive, and anxious—running on stress while complaining about it. They can be cautious and indecisive, but also reactive, defiant and rebellious. They typically have problems with self-doubt and suspicion. At their Best: internally stable and self-reliant, courageously championing themselves and others.

Type Nine
The Peacemaker

The easy-going, self-effacing type. Nines are accepting, trusting, and stable. They are usually creative, optimistic, and supportive, but can also be too willing to go along with others to keep the peace. They want everything to go smoothly and be without conflict, but they can also tend to be complacent, simplifying problems and minimizing anything upsetting. They typically have problems with inertia and stubbornness. At their Best: indomitable and all-embracing, they are able to bring people together and heal conflicts.

That's so me, no?
